MobileMe is a collection of Internet-based software developed by Apple. Users can synchronise calendars and e-mail and store files in their MobileMe account and access the information from their iPhone, iPad or other Macintosh computer. The service was previously named .mac before being rebranded in 2008. In some cases, MobileMe icons are present on computers without a subscription to the service. If you do not have an active MobileMe account, you can remove the MobileMe icon from your menu bar and prevent it from taking up desktop real estate. This is a simple task that will only take a few seconds.
