How to Make a Booth Rental Agreement

Booth rental agreements are arrangements made for many reasons. When an exhibitor leases space during an exhibition or trade show, a booth rental agreement is created. Another common use for booth rental agreements is with salon owners renting space to stylists. Booth rental agreements are contracts between a property owner or manager and a lessee. The rules, terms and obligations of the arrangement are all outlined in the agreement.

    Begin with the name of your company. When preparing a booth rental agreement, the owner of the company leasing space begins the agreement by stating the name of the company and the address or location.

    State the name of the person the rental agreement is with. This first section of a booth rental agreement contains the name of the lessee and basic information, including the date and the location or booth number of the space being rented.

    Determine the compensation amount for rent. For salon booths, a monthly rental fee is often charged. For exhibition events or state fairs, a booth rental agreement may be for one or more days or for one week. The compensation is clearly listed on the agreement, allowing the lessee to understand payment arrangements for the space. This agreement should list how payment is to be made and the types of payment methods accepted.

    Detail the rules for the rented space. All rules regarding the leased space should be written on the contract. This includes rules for subletting and details about what the space is used for. All insurance requirements of the lessee should be listed as well as the lessee's tax responsibilities. For exhibition-type rentals, set-up and tear-down information is included. This lets the lessee know when they gain possession of the space and when possession ends. Another detail for most booth rental contracts is a listing of the hours of operation. If a booth owner rents space at an exhibition, hours of operation requirements are almost always a mandatory rule. The contract also states the terms for default of the agreement.

    Finish the agreement with signatures. The last step in creating a booth rental agreement is the signatures of both the owner of the space and the lessee. Both parties sign and date the document, which confirms the agreement between the two parties.
