How to Reset an Audi

Updated July 20, 2017

Audi is known for manufacturing luxury vehicles that are European engineered, such as the Audi A4, the Audi A6, and the Audi TT. When an Audi has an issue with its engine, the check engine light indicator will light up. To remove and get rid of the check engine light indicator on an Audi, it will need to be reset with the use of a reset tool. The Service Light Plus airbag reset tool is available at most auto parts stores.

Insert the reset tool to the Audi's data link connector, that is located under the dashboard.

Switch the ignition of the Audi on.

Wait for the tool to light up, and by pressing the tool's scroll buttons, select "Audi", and push the "OK" button found on the tool.

Find the model of your Audi that is listed by scrolling with the scroll buttons and then push "OK."

Locate "Reset of Service Warning Light" on the tool with the scroll buttons and push "OK."

Wait for the tool to display "Reset OK!"

Switch the ignition of the Audi off and detach the tool from the data link connector.
