Loose wallpaper seams can lead to damaged wallpaper if left unresolved. Seams pull apart over time as the wallpaper glue ages. The seam can be repaired by the do-it-yourself homeowner using a seam sealer. The seam sealer will adhere the loosened seams to the wall like new. As soon as you notice a loosening seam, it is important to repair it to avoid tears in the wallpaper.

  1. 1

Identify the seams in your wallpaper that require repair. Apply seam sealer to a small poly brush. Lift the seam slightly open and brush a thin coating of sealer onto the wall underneath the lifted wallpaper.

  2. 2

Press the wallpaper back into place and run over the seam with your hand to smooth it out.

  3. 3

Roll over the seam with a wallpaper roller to ensure that it is completely adhered to the wall.

  4. 4

Wipe the outside of the seam with a damp sponge to remove any excess seam sealer that may have seeped out of the seam.
