How to Remove Wrinkles From a New Bed Comforter

Updated February 21, 2017

When you purchase a new comforter, you typically get left with wrinkles and creases from the way the comforter was packaged at the time of purchase. As you lay the comforter flat across your bed, the wrinkles become even more noticeable. To properly display the comforter as it was intended to appear, you must get those wrinkles out so you have a clean, wrinkle-free bed covering that you can enjoy.

Fill your steam iron with water.

Turn on the steam iron and let it warm up a bit.

Lay the comforter flat across your bed.

Hold the steam iron about 6 inches above the comforter, and pull the steam trigger over the wrinkled areas.

Continue across the comforter, and go back over any wrinkles that don't come out with the first steam application.

Always remember to hold the iron about 6 inches away from the fabric, because placing the iron directly on top of delicate fabrics can often scorch or burn the fabric.
