XPS stands for XML Paper Specification. XPS was designed to create an alternative to the PDF file format. Unlike PDFs, however, XPS files can be created and viewed only on a Microsoft platform. Since XPS files lack the universal functioning of PDF files, it is a good idea to convert an XPS file to PDF if you wish to send it to a non-Windows user. There are different tools to do this; however, the method described below allows you to do it for free.
- Skill level:
Load your web browser.
In the address bar, type in http://www.xps2pdf.org/ and press "Enter."
Click on the "Choose File" option to locate and load your XPS file for PDF conversion.
Click "Convert to PDF."
Download the file once it is converted to view the PDF.
