General Electric refrigerators and freezers can be reset in a couple of different ways, with the method contingent on whether you want to reset the whole refrigerator or simply reset the filter. Regardless of the task, resetting the GE refrigerator and freezer takes but a few moments.

Carefully move the refrigerator forward or to the side to enable you to reach the power cord.

Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.

Re-insert the power cord into the outlet.

Press the "Reset Filter" button on the front panel of the refrigerator.

Hold the button for three seconds.

Release the button.
