How to Connect to "Red Alert 2" in a Network

Command and Conquer: Red Alert 2 - Yuri's Revenge (sometimes just called "Red Alert 2") is a computer game you can play not only on the Internet, but also on a LAN (local area network) with two or more computers. Play the game over LAN on a Windows PC by enabling some disabled features present on the operating system before starting the game.

    Enabling LAN Gameplay

    Click the Start menu on your PC's screen.

    Click "Settings" or "Control Panel" depending on which is present.

    Click "Network and Internet Connections" or "Network Connections."

    Right-click on the Ethernet protocol or LAN connection that is present, and select "Properties."

    Click "Install" and select the IPX protocol. Click to continue the installation and restart the PC if asked. Repeat this process for every machine you want to play the game with.

    Playing the Game Over a Network

    Double-click the icon to start Red Alert 2 and launch the game.

    Click "Options," then open the "Network" menu.

    Select the option for IPX or LAN to make the game recognise the local area network. Repeat this process for every machine you want to play the game with.
