In addition to offering various navigation voices, the TomTom GPS system allows users to record their own sounds for all occasions. Changing the arrival sound on your TomTom requires only a USB computer connection while an additional sound recording or editing program is needed to create your own. Other sounds, like those for start up and shut down, can also be changed by using different file names.

Hook up your TomTom unit to your computer using the USB cables.

  2. 2

Make your arrival sound. This can be a sound you record yourself or one you find elsewhere. Use your recording/editing program to make sure the sound is recorded as 16-bit, 22050 Hz mono. If needed, click on "Save as" and select the correct format for the sound.

  3. 3
