A shiny, greasy nose can be unsightly and ruin any make-up look. Excess oil on the nose is often due to hormonal changes which increase the activity of the sebaceous glands. The nose tends to get more oily than other areas of the face because it contains more sebaceous follicles. It's not too difficult to manage the oil on your nose by treating and caring for it properly.

  1. 1

Wash your face with an oil-free facial cleanser twice per day. Squeeze a moderate amount of the gentle cleanser on your fingers and massage it gently on your facial skin, avoiding the eyes. Massage the cleanser on and around your nose for an additional amount of time. Wash the cleanser off with warm water and a soft washcloth.

  2. 2

Mix together 1 tbsp of lemon juice with 2 tbsps. of water. Dip a cotton ball in the solution and dab it onto your nose. If the rest of your skin is oily, dab it all over your face. Leave the solution on your nose for 10 minutes and wash it off with warm water.

  3. 3

Apply a small amount of primer, a bit less than the size of a pea, to your skin, especially on your nose, in the morning.

  4. 4

Blot your nose with oil-blotting sheets throughout the day to absorb the oil without messing up or removing your make-up. Press the oil-blotting sheet against oily areas on your nose. Use a different sheet each time that you blot your nose.
