Binary (BIN) files are computer files that can contain almost any type of file, and most of the time these files end with the extension ".bin." It is embedded in binary form for both computer storage and processing. Binary files contain sequences of bytes that are binary digits in groups of 8. They can contain text, images, sounds and compressed versions of other files. Merging BIN files requires just a few steps to set up.
- Skill level:
Open a terminal and locate the folder where your separate BIN files are stored.
Type the following code into your terminal:
cat image.bin.001 image.bin.002 image.bin.003 > image.bin
Replace the word "image" in the code with the name of your file. You have now merged BIN files.
