"Command and Conquer: Red Alert 2" is a real-time strategy game developed for Windows 95. Because it is an older program, you will run into installation errors when attempting to install "Command and Conquer: Red Alert 2" on a PC running Windows XP. This issue can be resolved by using the built-in Program Compatibility Mode feature in Windows XP. Using this feature will allow you to install and play "Command and Conquer: Red Alert 2" on a system running Windows XP.

    Insert the "Command and Conquer: Red Alert 2" installation disc into your computer's disc drive.

    Click on the "Start" menu button, then click on the "My Computer" shortcut located within.

    Double-click on icon for the disc drive that contains the "Command and Conquer: Red Alert 2" installation disc. This will allow you to view the contents of the disc.

    Right-click on the "Setup.exe" file located on the installation disc, then click on "Properties."

    Click the "Compatability" tab located at the top of the "Properties" menu.

    Click "Run This Program In Compatibility Mode," then click "Windows 95" from the list of options.

    Click "Apply," then "OK" to save the changes.

    Double-click on the "Setup.exe" file to start the installation process. Follow all on-screen installation prompts to complete the installation.

    Double-click on the "Command and Conquer: Red Alert 2" shortcut on your desktop once installation is complete to run the game.
