ASUS P5N-E SLI motherboards are slightly dated models installed mainly in desktop PCs. Motherboards are PCB (Printed Circuit Board) that hold numerous circuits for computer components. Overclocking the ASUS P5N-E SLI motherboard speeds up connections made by the motherboard and increases the speed and performance of the PC.     Boot the computer system that contains the ASUS P5N-E SLI motherboard. Press and hold the function 11 key (F11) to enter the boot menu. Select and enter the "BIOS" portion of the boot menu.

    Highlight "External Bus" from the BIOS list and press "Enter." Select the MHz entry next to "Front Side Bus" and hit "Enter." Press the "UP" arrow key to raise the value once. Press "Enter" to confirm the new value. This process raises the ASUS P5N-E SLI's front bus speed.

    Highlight "CPU Core" from the BIOS list and press "Enter." Select the entry next to "Multiplier" and hit "Enter." Press the "UP" arrow key to raise the value by one. Press "Enter" to confirm the new value. This process increases the ASUS P5N-E SLI's frequency multiplier.

    Move to the original boot menu. Press the "Save Changes and Exit" option. The ASUS P5N-E SLI motherboard is overclocked.

Tips and warnings
