How to Remove the Supervisor Password on the Lenovo ThinkPad X60

These days, good password security is extremely important. Frequently changing the password on your Lenovo ThinkPad X60 laptop will help protect confidential or sensitive information you may keep on your computer.

If you own a Lenovo ThinkPad X60 laptop, changing the supervisor password is relatively simple. Before you can change the password, however, you must first know how to remove the current password.

Turn off the Lenovo ThinkPad X60 laptop.

Wait at least five seconds, then press and hold the "F1" key while you press the power button to turn on the X60. Once the laptop starts, wait for the "Easy-Setup" screen to display.

Enter your current ThinkPad X60 supervisor password at the prompt, then press the "Enter" key.

Click the "Password" link in the Easy-Setup main menu screen. Once the password windows opens, click the "Supervisor" icon. Again, type your current supervisor password and press the spacebar. The utility removes the Supervisor password for the X60.

Enter a new password or leave it blank to bypass the password prompt in the future.
