When travelling through rush hour in your Volvo V50, it is difficult to switch from CD to CD to find your favourite music. Avoid a dangerous situation by using your iPod on the go. Regardless what type of stereo your Volvo has, you can hook up an iPod to play your iTunes playlists or files. You need an adaptor or transmitter to play an iPod in your car; these items are available where iPods and accessories are sold.

Plug in a tape adaptor to the head phone slot on your iPod and push the tape into the tape deck. Many newer stereos will not have a tape deck. Press "Play" on the iPod, and the music will play through the stereo.

  2. 2

Plug the auxiliary cord into the headphone slot on your iPod and the other end into the "Aux" jack on the stereo. This is located on the face of the stereo. Set the stereo to "Aux" and press "Play" on the iPod wheel.

  3. 3

Push the AM/FM transmitter into the bottom of the iPod, where you plug in the charger. Set the transmitter to a station with dead air. Set the radio to the same station; press "Play" on the iPod.
