The Sony DAV-Z1V is a DVD speaker system that has a surround-sound speaker connection with a built-in DVD player. Also, you are able to hook up additional equipment, such as cable receivers and televisions. However, many electronic devices still use RCA (composite) cable connections, which the Sony DAV-Z1V doesn't have. In order to hook up this equipment, you must convert the cable connection.

  • RCA to digital coaxial audio converter
  • RCA audio cables

    Plug the RCA audio cables into the "Audio Out" ports of the device you want to hook up with the Sony DAV-X1V.

    Insert the other ends of the cable into the RCA side of the converter cable.

  3. 3

    Plug the digital coaxial audio cable into the "Digital audio" input.

  4. 4

    Power on the connected equipment and the Sony DAV-X1V. Select "Digital Audio" and the audio signal converts over to the Sony DVD surround-sound system.
