How to Format a Hard Disk on a Ricoh Aficio 1045 Copier

In order to format the hard disk on a Ricoh 1045 copier, you will need to connect the copier to your computer with a Category 5 (Cat 5) or Ethernet cable. Formatting the hard disk will erase the data stored on the disk; all your saved settings will be removed from the printer as well. Note that you will have to install the Ricoh Aficio 1045 drivers on your computer for this process to work.

Instructions

    Click on the link in the Resources section and download and install the drivers for the Ricoh Aficio 1045 copier.

    Open "Computer" from the Start menu. Right-click the Ricoh Aficio 1045 copier, which will appear as a drive.

    Select "Format" from the right-click menu. Set the "Allocation Size" and the "File System" to "Default" and click "Start."

    Wait for the drive to finish formatting and close the Formatting tool.
