How to Program the Key to a Range Rover

Updated February 21, 2017

Transponder keys are featured on most Toyota vehicles, and the Range Rover is no different. You can program your transponder keys in seconds from the driver's seat of your Range Rover. This programming sequence will allow you to use the keys to start your car right away. You can program up to four keys at a time to your ignition.

Close all of the vehicle's doors and windows. Lock and unlock the driver's side door with your key.

Enter the vehicle's driver's seat and close the driver's side door behind you.

Insert your key into the ignition and leave it there until the security light turns on.

Leave the key in the ignition for 15 seconds with the security light on, and then press the brake pedal five times.

Wait for the security light to turn off and remove your key from the ignition. Open the driver's side door to end the programming sequence.
