The LG Tromm series of washers is a line of front-loading steam washing machines. These washers have a standard one-year warranty that covers the cost of all parts and labour during the first 365 days after purchase. The extended warranty covers the control board for two years and the motor for ten years. The steel drum is guaranteed for the life of the appliance. Before requesting warranty service, troubleshoot the appliance.

  1. 1

Inspect the inside of the drum and remove loose coins, buttons or other items if the machine makes a clanking or rattling noise. If the noise continues when the washer is restarted, objects are inside the pump. Call for service.

  2. 2

Stop the washer and redistribute the load of clothing if it makes a thumping sound. This is normal for large loads. Restart the washer.

  3. 3

Turn the levelling feet clockwise or counter-clockwise until all the feet are firmly touching the ground if the washer vibrates.

  1. 1

Tighten the fill hose connections with a wrench if leaking occurs around the connections. Ensure hoses are tightened at the tap and on the washer.

  2. 2

Clear clogs in the drain pipe if the washer leaks during draining. Remove clogs in the drain hose or standpipe with a straightened clothes hanger. Unclog sink drains with a liquid drain cleaner. Follow the instructions on the drain cleaner. Call a plumber if drains are still clogged.

  3. 3

Measure detergent carefully if leaking occurs due to excessive suds. Use detergent designed for use with high-efficiency washers.

    Error Codes

  1. 1

Add one or two additional items to the load if an image depicting scales is displayed. This error indicates that the load is not balanced or is too small.

  2. 2

Unplug the washer and discontinue use if "tE" is displayed. This error code indicates a problem with the controls. Call for service.

  3. 3

Turn the water taps clockwise to close them and unplug the washer if "FE" or "PE" appears on the display. The "FE" error means the water valve is faulty and the washer is overfilling. "PE" means the water level sensor is faulty. Call for service.

  4. 4

Wait 30 minutes for the motor to cool if "LE" appears on the display. This error means the thermal overload protection has activated to prevent the motor from overheating. If this error continues to appear, discontinue use and call for service.
