PSIA (pounds per square inch absolute) is a pressure measurement that assumes a starting point of zero in a perfect vacuum where, by definition, air pressure does not exist. This helps to get a true and accurate reading. kPa (Kilopascal or kpascal) is a relative unit for measuring pressure in the metric system. Although PSIA is absolute and kPa is relative, you can still convert between them.
