The Asus P5QC is a Windows-based computer that comes with a Realtek ALC1200 sound card. This allows you to import audio from an outside device and play back audio through headphones or computer speakers. If the sound is not working properly, there likely is an issue with the sound driver. To correct the problem, download and reinstall the driver on your computer.

Skill level:
Moderately Easy

  1. 1

Open the Internet browser and navigate to the Asus website.

  2. 2

Select the region of the world you are in, then click "Service," followed by "Support."

  3. 3

Click "Download" on the right side of the screen, then select the product model Asus P5QC as the model for which you need drivers.

  4. 4

Click the link next to the sound driver download. This automatically downloads the updated driver information to your computer.

  5. 5

Double-click the downloaded file. An installation wizard loads onto the screen. Follow the prompts of the on screen installation wizard to install the driver. Restart the computer, and the sound problems with your Asus laptop computer should be fixed.
