How to Set up a Remote Connection in a Vuze
Configure your Vuze BitTorrent client for remote access. (computer image by fotografiche.eu from Fotolia.com)

Vuze (formerly Azureus) is a popular download client for the BitTorrent protocol. It's one of the most full-featured clients out there and includes a store where you can obtain legally licensed copies of popular videos. But even so, large or poorly seeded downloads can take hours or even days to finish, necessitating management when you're away from your main computer. To this end Vuze has a built-in web manager, accessible from almost any computer with a web browser.

Instructions

  1. 1

Open Vuze on your downloading computer. Check to make sure your active downloads are continuing normally.

  2. 2

Select the "Tools" menu item and click "Remote Pairing." Write down the string of numbers and letters that is displayed.

  3. 3

Switch to the remote computer. Open a web browser such as Internet Explorer, Safari or Firefox. Navigate to the Vuze Remote website (see Resources).

  4. 4

Type the pairing code you wrote down into the text field. Click "Pair Vuze Remote." You can now manage your downloads from any remote computer with Internet access. Keep the pairing code handy to have access to the Vuze Remote from anywhere.
