Computer companies often include a "recovery partition" on computers' hard drives instead of bundling recovery discs with their products. While this helps their bottom line, many people find that they either prefer or actually need recovery discs in order to repair or reinstall software on their computer. Ordering recovery discs from Toshiba takes only minutes, though it does cost money. While Toshiba says that there is no charge for the software or discs themselves, there is a fee that covers "shipping and handling."

Tips and warnings
- Be sure that you want or need the recovery discs before you spend the money to order them. Toshiba laptops that do not come with recovery discs have a recovery partition that allows you to restore your computer without recovery discs. Additionally, these laptops come with software that allows you to create your own recovery discs (see Resources).
