Little girls love the Cinderella story, and many dream of having their very own Cinderella carriage. Make your little girl's fantasy a reality by converting her bed into Cinderella's carriage. It will be her favourite place to play and sleep. This is a project you can make yourself from inexpensive materials. Or you can design the bed and get a blacksmith to produce the finished product.

Look for ideas in children's books and from illustrations. Create your own idea of the perfect Cinderella bed by combining ideas you find. Think of the materials you are going to use.
Take measurements of the bed. Measure the height and length of a child's single bed.
Sketch the Cinderella bed you would like on a piece of white paper.
Stand a large piece of plywood or fiberboard on a large table in a garage or work area.
Turn on an art projector or other type of projector. Place your sketch on projector and project the image on the plywood or fiberboard. Follow the projector instructions to focus the picture.
Trace the image onto the board. Make the measurements where the board should bolt onto the board. Cut out areas from the carriage drawing using a jigsaw.
Place another large piece of fiberboard or plywood against the wall and trace the image on the board in reverse. Remember that this side goes on the other side of the bed and the image has to be reversed. Make the bed measurements on the board where it will be bolted to the bed. Cut out the areas that should be empty with a jigsaw.
Paint the carriage with acrylic paints. Spray a sealer on the Cinderella carriage form.
Sand down edges and cut sides. Use a rough grain sand paper to keep the sides from being rough or from splintering.
Drill pilot holes through the painted plywood. Bolt the Cinderella carriage sides to the bed using bolts, washers and nuts.
Install two or three iron angles on the united edges to give the carriage more stability. Paint the angles the same colour as the carriage to make them blend in. Spray with sealer.
Decorate the entrance and the windows of the carriage with beautiful curtains
Attach a little wood stairway to the entrance. Search for old carriage wheels to use.
Follow Steps 1, 2 and 3 of Section 1 to create your Cinderella carriage design.
Take your bed measurements and drawings to a blacksmith and ask him to make the bed from wrought iron.
Wait for the iron bed to be finished and attached to the bed. Decorate the entrance and windows with sheer curtains. Search for old carriage wheels.
