Microphones are typically used for two purposes: to record and to project. If you are looking to project the audio from an individual talking (or music instrument) it is possible to do so with a USB microphone. These microphones connect directly to your computer, and the audio plays out of the computer's speakers.

Connect computer speakers to your system, using the “Line-Out” port on the computer.
Power on the speakers and turn on the microphone. Once you begin to talk into the microphone the audio projects through the connected computer speakers.
