Embossing a picture in Photoshop gives the image a 3D effect as if it were carved in relief. Photoshop offers many options to change the angle, height and amount of the embossing for limitless effects. You may choose to work with colour or black-and-white photographs. Images should present some texture, but too much background noise and texture may overwhelm the image once it has been embossed.
