Many digital video cameras record directly onto a small videotape known as a MiniDV (mini digital video). If you want to convert the miniDV into a DVD, but don't want to spend extra time uploading the tape to a computer, editing it, then sending it to a DVD program, it is possible to directly record the programming onto a Panasonic DVD recorder. This device is typically used with televisions, but thanks to the video output on all miniDV based cameras you are able to directly sync the two products together.
