DIY Indoor TV Antenna

Updated April 17, 2017

Cable and satellite television services may not be available to those in rural areas or may not be affordable for people living on restricted budgets. People who view local broadcast television using an antenna may be able to save money by constructing a homemade television antenna for each television in the home to receive television from local affiliates of networks such as ABC, NBC, CBS and Fox.

Pull out the bottom side of the clothes hanger.

Strip the telephone wire with the wire cutters.

Wrap the stripped wire around the bottom and sides of the stretched clothes hanger.

Wrap one layer of aluminium foil over the surface of the hanger on top of the telephone wire. Fit the aluminium foil snugly across the surface of the wire hanger.

Wrap the hook of the hanger around the cable input on the back or front of the television. Wrapping the hook prevents the clothes hanger from slipping out of the television.
