How do I Program the Channel Lock on a Hitachi TV?

Updated March 23, 2017

Hitachi creates electronic products, such as televisions, home improvement tools and computer products, for both consumers and businesses. While their TV's come with the basic elements that most TVs come with, it also comes with extra features. If you have children, one item you might use is the channel lock feature. This makes certain channels, such as adult channels, inaccessible to everyone when the lock is on. This keeps children from seeing content that you find inappropriate.

Press the "Menu" button on the remote control. Using the thumb stick, select "Locks." Press the "Select" button.

Select "Engage Lock" and press the "Select" button. Choose "Channel Lock."

Type in the access code. If you haven't set an access code the default is "0000." Choose the channels you'd like to lock and make sure the icon of the lock is closed.

Press the "Exit" button on the remote to leave the menu. Visit the channel you looked and make sure the picture and sound isn't viewable.
