Skype is usually thought of as a consumer-class voice, video and text chat service with available telephone numbers. However, Skype also offers business class service. Connecting Skype to a Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) enabled Internet Protocol (IP) Private Branch Exchange (PBX) is a business class service that allows telephone extensions connected to an IP PBX to call out using Skype's various services. Using Skype via SIP is not a consumer service and configuration usually requires certified IP PBX technicians.

Create a Skype Manager account on the Skype website. This will allow you to control Skype accounts for your company.
Log in to Skype Manager in your browser and click "Features" in the toolbar. Click "Create a new profile" to create a new SIP profile. Write down the information generated after creating the new profile.
Click "Profile Settings" and then click "Buy a channel subscription to activate this profile." Enter the number of Skype channels your company will need. A channel is similar to a telephone number. Test your PBX's outbound calling by dialling 1-760-660-4690. This is Skype's test number and will not incur costs while testing your PBX's SIP settings.
Configure your IP PBX for inbound Skype calling. The procedure will differ greatly, depending on your PBX. Consult your PBX documentation for details.
Create a Skype Business account. This account is where you will create and associate Skype IDs and different incoming numbers for your internal PBX users.
Test the incoming call integration of your PBX by making a Skype to Skype call for the Skype name of the business.
Assign Skype accounts names and telephone numbers to the different users of your PBX in Skype Manager. The process for connecting your internal PBX users to their Skype names will vary, depending on which PBX you are using. Consult your PBX documentation for details.
