Decorative streamers come in a wide variety of colours, materials and shapes, and are an inexpensive way to decorate for a baby shower. Classic crepe paper streamers are just one of many types. Honeycomb streamers have a three-dimensional appearance, enabling you to hang them in less traditional ways. Three colours --- one main colour and two accents --- work best when streamers are the primary decoration. For example, if the shower's main colour is pale pink, combine it with white and either chocolate brown, dark pink or pale orange streamers.

Attach one end of each crepe paper streamer to the light fixture. You can also attach to the ceiling, centring it over the table.
Apply a loose twist to the streamer as you take the other end to one corner of the room. Keep a swag in the streamer as you secure it to the wall.
Secure streamers to all remaining corners of the room, maintaining the same swag height with each.
Add streamers using the same method until the entire ceiling is hidden. Use only the shower's primary colour for a clean look.
Make a curtain behind a gift table, dessert table or buffet table with intricate, three-dimensional honeycomb streamers.
Hang a single layer of streamers that obscures the area behind. Secure one end of each length of streamer to the ceiling with removable tape. Add more layers, hanging them at various points in front of the curtain. Use different colours --- a main colour and accent colours --- in a way that's visually pleasing to you.
Take the free ends of a few selected streamers and bring them back up to the ceiling, creating a mix of straight-hanging and swagged streamers. Aim for nonuniformity in the layers.
Allow the straight-hanging streamers to fall behind the table, out of view, before trimming them.
Attach classically-twisted crepe paper streamers across the backs of dining chairs.
Swag streamers on all sides of a buffet or side table, securing the ends on the underside of the table. Put them on in multiple layers of varying colour and swag to create a table skirt.
Hang a crepe paper streamer, entwined with a piece of garland, in gentle swags along shelves or a mantelpiece. Use garland that complements the shower's theme, such as a string of paper or silk pansies for a garden theme, or a string of paper baby blocks for a gender-neutral theme.
