If you want to play DVR recordings on your PC, "Remote Access" by Dish Network allows you to schedule and view recordings from your computer. If you have high-speed Internet, you can connect your DVR to your router and follow the on-screen wizard to set up Remote Access.

Connect one end of an Ethernet cable to the back of your Dish receiver. Plug the opposite end of the Ethernet cable to your router. Confirm that the receiver's "Ethernet" light is on.
Turn on your TV and press "Menu" on your remote. Select "System Setup" and "Installation." Press "Broadband Setup" to begin the automatic configuration. Allow it to finish, and then press "Done."
Navigate to the Dish Network website and log in. If you do not have an account, you must create one before using Remote Access (see Resources).
Select "Remote Access" to connect your PC and DVR together. Use the website to select shows recorded on your DVR to play on the PC.
