The Samsung 2.1 channel sound bar is a compact speaker system for home theatre systems consisting of two loudspeakers built into the thin sound bar and a wireless sub-woofer that picks up infrared signals from the sound bar. The system produces stereo from the sound bar, while the 150 watt sub-woofer supplies bass. Some models are equipped with a built-in Blu-ray player for viewing discs in high definition. The Samsung sound bar is equipped with a digital output designed for use with HDTV sets to supply picture and sound with a single connection.

- HDMI cable
Place the thin Samsung sound bar above or below the HDTV.
Connect the HDMI cable from the output on the back of the sound bar to an input on the HDTV. This single cable supplies digital video and audio to the TV.
Place the wireless sub-woofer anywhere in the room, even behind furniture, if desired, but the unit must be within 10 metres (33 feet) of the sound bar, according to the Samsung owner's manual.
Plug in the power cables for the sound bar and wireless sub, then press the power button on each component to turn on the equipment. The sub-woofer's wireless ID is preset and the unit will connect automatically with the sound bar when powered.
