How to Overclock a Dell Dimension E521

Overclocking forces your processor to perform at a speed beyond the manufacturer's recommendations. You can overclock your Dell Dimension E521 by accessing the BIOS menu. Your computer uses BIOS, which stands for Basic Input Output System, to regulate its basic devices. As a warning, overclocking may cause permanent damage to your computer's components.

Turn on your computer and press the "F8" key to access the BIOS menu.

Tab over to "Advanced Settings."

Consult the chart (See Resources) and change your CPU multiplier to your desired value.

Consult the chart (See Resources) and change your front side bus speed to your desired value.

Press "F11" to exit and save changes.

Overclocking may cause permanent damage to your computer's components.
