There are several ways to go about unlocking a mobile phone. Some of these include using an unlock code, using a hardware device and using a USB cable. If you choose to unlock your Nokia 6230B using a USB cable, then you will need the drivers, a computer and an unlocking program. Once you have all of the materials, it takes 10 to 15 minutes to walk through the process.

Instructions

  1. 1

Download Rollis 1.8 (see Resource links). This is a free application that will help to identify and disable the locks on your phone. It is a stand-alone desktop-executable file, so you will not need to install it.

  2. 2

Turn your computer and phone on. Plug one end of your USB data cable into the bottom of your Nokia 6230B phone and the other end into an available USB port.

  3. 3

Double-click on the application file that you downloaded and wait for it to launch. Click the button that looks like a red insect located on the top right-hand side of the screen. You will get a "Found Phone" message.

  4. 4

Click the "Read Phone Info" button. This is at the top left side of the screen. A picture of four locks will appear on your screen. One, some or all of these should be closed if your phone is locked.

  5. 5

Open the locks by clicking the "Clear SP Locks" button. Your Nokia 6230B is now unlocked. You can verify this by looking at the locks on your screen. These should now all be open.
