ATI Catalyst video cards allow a great deal of user control and customisation, perfect for the gamer looking for optimal performance. ATI cards use a specific software program known as the ATI Control Center, which makes changes to graphic options quite easy. One of the options that can be edited is the video driver pixel format. You can choose where the pixel centre originates in order to combat potential video card issues, the most notable being text related.

Skill level:

  1. 1

Open the ATI Catalyst Control Center by clicking the "Start" button, then "Programs," then select "ATI Catalyst Control Center."

  2. 2

Double-click "3D" to expand (this will be located in the Advanced View).

  3. 3

    Select "API Specific."

  4. 4

Click on "Alternate pixel centre." The box will now be checked and you can exit the ATI program.
