Every bulb on your Subaru Forester serves an important function in the operation of your vehicle. When one of these lights goes out, it is important to replace it as soon as possible. Many lights are required in order to operate the car and you may face a citation if it is not working. Changing bulbs is a basic task that can typically be completed in minutes. Every bulb will need to be accessed differently, but automotive bulbs are fairly universal in their installation.

    Access the inoperable light bulb. For all bulbs near the headlights, remove the headlight assembly unless you are able to get in through the assembly opening.

    Turn bulb to loosen it from the socket. Be careful when removing bulb that you do not break the bulb.

  3. 3

    Replace with new bulb. Twist the opposite direction to make sure bulb is properly seated in the socket.

  4. 4

    Re-install headlight assembly and check the aim of the headlights. Adjust it as necessary.
