Most store-bought alligator costumes are bulky, full-body costumes that do little to flatter your figure or bring the word "sexy" to mind. Instead of settling for a frumpy costume, create your own sexy alligator outfit at home. You don't need any special skills or equipment. As long as you can sew a straight line, you can create a racy alligator costume to wear on Halloween or to a costume party.

Purchase a green dress or use a sexy, green dress that you already own for the base of your costume. The dress will not be harmed or altered in the making of your costume, so you will be able to wear it again.
Cut two identical triangles from a piece of green fabric that matches your dress. Each triangle should measure 2 feet tall and approximately 12 inches wide at the base. This will form the tail of your sexy alligator costume.
Stack the two triangles with the right sides of the fabric together. Sew along the longer edges of the triangles using a 1/4-inch seam allowance. Turn the fabric right-side out to form a triangle-shaped pocket.
Stuff the fabric pocket with cotton batting or polyester fiberfill. Fold the open edges of the pocket in 1/2-inch and sew the opening closed.
Sew the base of the tail to a leather or cloth belt. Decorate the tail with fabric paints or beads attached with hot glue.
Cut two oval shapes with flat bottoms from craft foam to mimic the appearance of an alligator's eyes. Position these ovals on the front of a green visor as if the bill of the visor is the top of the alligator's snout. Use craft glue to secure the eyes in place.
Cut circles from craft foam slightly smaller than the green ovals and glue them directly to the centre of each oval to form the alligator's eyeballs. Draw a pupil onto the centre of each eyeball with a black marker.
Cut a piece of red felt the same size as the underside of the visor's bill. Glue the felt to the underside of the visor with craft glue.
Cut small triangle from white felt to represent alligator teeth. Glue these teeth to the red felt on the underside of the visor. Place a small piece of tape extending from the back of each tooth to the felt to secure the teeth, if necessary.
