Windows users generally have a specific layout for their desktop icons that they prefer to use all of the time. However, it is possible that the icon arrangement can be mixed up. Another user could move the icons, the system could sort them differently after a system crash or they might be moved if the screen resolution is accidentally changed. Fortunately, a number of utilities can help you save and restore the desktop icon layout on your Windows XP system.
