CUE files are one of two files---the other being the BIN file---that make up a certain type of disk image. Ordinarily, it is little trouble to burn a BIN/CUE disk image onto a blank CD or DVD. If, however, your CUE file is damaged, then you won't be able to burn the disk image without first repairing the file. The only way to repair a damaged CUE file is to recreate the file itself.

Skill level:
Moderately Easy

  1. 1

    Launch the "Notepad" application.

  2. 2

Copy and paste the following lines into the Notepad window:

    FILE "X.bin" BINARY

    TRACK 01 MODE 1/2352

    INDEX 01 00:00:00

Replace "X" with the full filename of the BIN file.

  3. 3

Click the "File" menu and select "Save As."

  4. 4

Click the "Save as Type" drop-down box and select "All Files."

  5. 5

Type "X.CUE" into the "File Name" text box, replacing "X" with the full file name of the BIN file. Select "Yes" if you are prompted to confirm your decision to replace the already-existing CUE file.
