Quartet whiteboards come in a variety of sizes and dimensions. They are useful for everything from jotting down messages at home or writing notes in a classroom or conference room. Quartet makes whiteboard easels that come with their own stand. However, more permanent whiteboards should be mounted on a wall for everyone to see. Regardless of what model of whiteboard you purchase, you can easily install it using the hardware provided.

  1. 1

Determine the location of your whiteboard. Make sure that you hang the board in a space that is both visible and easily accessible. Also, whiteboards can vary in their dimensions, so make sure that the spot for your whiteboard is appropriate for its size. Whiteboards also have the option of horizontal or vertical display. Decide which layout best suits your needs.

  2. 2

Mark the location of your whiteboard using the holes on the back of the whiteboard as your guide. If you are hanging the board horizontally, use two horizontal holes to create marks on the wall. If you are hanging the board vertically, the two vertical holes must be marked.

  3. 3

Attach the mounting device to the wall in the marked location. Some whiteboards use screws to mount, so simply screw in the appropriate hardware in the marked location. You may need to drill small pilot holes or add mollies if necessary.

  4. 4

Mount the whiteboard onto the mounting devices attached to the wall. Make sure that the whiteboard is securely attached to the wall before continuing. If the whiteboard is loose or not level, remove it and adjust the mounting devices. Then, remount the whiteboard to ensure it is positioned exactly as you wish it to be.

  5. 5

Attach accessories to the whiteboard. Depending on the model of Quartet whiteboard you purchase, a variety of accessories may be included. Accessories could range from basic whiteboard markers to IdeaShare receivers and electronic pens. Use the hardware provided with your whiteboard to install any additional accessories. If your accessories are electronic, such as the pens, they may require batteries that are not included in the package. Consult the instruction manual to determine what type of batteries, if any, are necessary for your whiteboard.

  6. 6

Test your whiteboard. Use whiteboard pens to write a message on the whiteboard. Then erase the message. Make sure that the markers work properly and that the erasers removes all of the ink on the board. Activity on the board will also ensure that the board is attached securely. If it is not, you may need to secure the mounting devices. If the board or markers do not erase properly, consider returning or exchanging your whiteboard.
