How to Import VCF to Windows Mobile
VCF files make sharing contact information between devices and PCs more convenient. (smart phone image by Jon Le-Bon from

A VCF file, also known as a vCard file, is a standard file format for electronic contact cards. It's similar to handing out a business card but without the tangible card itself. VCF files enable users to share contact information with others by attaching the file to e-mails, web pages and via Bluetooth from device to device. Importing VCF files into Windows Mobile will require an established synchronisation partnership between your mobile device and your PC.

Skill level:

  1. 1

Open Microsoft Outlook on your PC.

  2. 2

Click the "File" menu header and select "Import and Export." Select "Import a vCard File (.vcf)" from the "Choose an action to perform" list of options.

  3. 3

Click the "Next" button. Navigate to and select the VCF file you're importing in the Browse field. Click "Open" to import the file into Outlook.

  4. 4

Close Microsoft Outlook. Connect your Windows Mobile device to your PC using the USB cable that came with your device. Synchronisation will begin and the new contact record will be imported onto your Windows Mobile device.
