How to Reset the Maintenance Service Light on a Toyota Yaris

Updated February 21, 2017

The Toyota Yaris keeps track of the mileage intervals between regular maintenance. The control panel display shows a maintenance reminder light when the mileage threshold is reached. Most automobile technicians will reset the maintenance light when they perform regular maintenance on the Yaris, such as an oil change. If the mechanic does not reset the light, or if you do the maintenance on the Yaris yourself, you can manually reset the indicator light to turn it off until it alerts you that service is needed again.

Insert the key into the ignition. Turn the switch to the "On" position.

Press the odometer reset button repeatedly until "Trip A" is displayed.

Turn the ignition to the "OFF" position.

Press and hold the odometer reset button. Turn the ignition switch to the "ON" position.

Release the odometer reset button after the indicator displays "000000." The maintenance service light turns off.
