Directv doesn't allow customers to reset this feature from the receiver as an advanced security measure. Instead you can simply call in to Directv Customer Service and request that the receivers parental password be reset. This is a request that can only be fulfilled by the account holder or an authorised user.

Gather the required information such as the account number on your Directv account, and the location and model number on the affected receiver.
Call into Directv Customer Service at 1-800-531-5000 and follow the prompts to speak to a customer service agent. Once you speak with an agent, they will request the required information to access your account.
Request that the parental control pass code be reset on the appropriate receiver. The agent will be able to reset the receivers parental controls to a default code of 0000. Once you have the default code you can change the code to your preference.
