Programming a Panasonic universal remote is a quick process that should take only a few minutes. You do not need any tools or technical know-how to complete this task. Programming a Panasonic remote is a do-it-yourself project that is completed entirely using the remote control.

Skill level:

  1. 1

Hold down both the "Power" and "Action" buttons for five complete seconds. All the component lights of your Panasonic universal remote control will light up if you have a lighted version of the remote and if you press the buttons correctly.

  2. 2

Press the button corresponding the component to which you are programming the remote. If you are programming the remote to a TV, press the "TV" button, for a VCR, press the "VCR" button, or for a DVD player, press the "DVD" button.

  3. 3

Use the TV Codes website to find the codes for your component. These codes are usually brand-specific. Press each digit of the code into the remote's number pad. Aim the remote at the component and press the "Power" button to turn it on. f the component doesn't turn on, start over using another code on the list until the remote works.
