A proxy is a site that provides a gateway to users who need to bypass Internet restrictions so that websites being blocked in a network by filtering software such as Websense can be accessed. Websense features a proxy avoidance setting that blocks proxy sites so Internet users cannot bypass its restrictions. New proxy sites are developed and uploaded to the Net daily; therefore, it isn't possible for Websense to block every single proxy available. Ultimately, you can unfilter proxy avoidance in Websense by visiting websites that feature lists of new proxies that are not yet blocked by Websense.
