The Kodak C813 digital camera comes with 16 megabytes of internal memory, so it is possible to take pictures and upload it to your computer without a memory disk. Using a disk (in this case a Secure Digital card) is, however, recommended as you will only be able to take 12 photos at the 3.1-megapixel setting before the internal memory is full. You can try to set the camera at a lower resolution setting to get more photos, but your images will lose detail.

Skill level:
Moderately Easy

Things you need

  • Kodak Easyshare C813 installation software
  • USB cable

  1. 1

Log on to your Windows computer and insert the Kodak Easyshare installation CD that came with the camera. An installation menu will pop-up automatically. Click "custom install." A wizard will guide you through the rest of the installation process, which should only take a couple of minutes. If you no longer have the installation CD, you can download the software from Kodak's website.

  2. 2

Plug the smaller end of the USB-cable into the USB port on the left side of the camera.

  3. 3

Plug the other end of the USB cable into your computer's USB port.

  4. 4

Press the camera's on/off button to switch the camera on. The computer will automatically detect the camera as a USB storage device.

  5. 5

Open up Kodak Easyshare on your computer. Click on the "My Collections" tab on the left side of the page and select "New Album" at the top bar. Type the name of your new picture album.

  6. 6

Click on "Add Pictures" next to the "New Album" icon.

  7. 7

Select "Kodak Easyshare C813" from the "Select Location" list to retrieve the photos. The photos will be displayed on the left side of the screen.

  8. 8

Select individual photos by clicking on them while holding the control button down. Click "Add Pictures," or click on "Select Entire Folder" to download all pictures on the camera.

  9. 9

Click on "Done." All the pictures you wanted from the camera should now be transferred to your computer.
