How to disable a vaio smart network

Updated February 21, 2017

The Sony VAIO "Smart Network" is not actually a wired or wireless network at all. Instead, it is a piece of proprietary computer software used on Sony VAIO computers that helps you manage your wired or wireless network connections. The Windows operating system comes with native tools that will accomplish the same thing. If you want to disable the "Smart Network" software from running on your computer, you can do so using the Task Manager.

Right-click the task bar.

Click "Start Task Manager."

Click "Applications."

Click "Sony VAIO Smart Network."

Click "End Task" to disable the Smart Network software that is running on your computer.
