World of Warcraft, or WoW as it is known to millions of players, is the incredibly popular MMPORPG (massively multiplayer online roleplaying game) that was released by Blizzard Entertainment in 2002, as the next step in their series of Warcraft games. Played by literally millions of people throughout the world, WoW allows people to interact with others, through the use of online avatars, that fight one another and complete quests. Players also have the ability to chat with one another. Through the use of an American Standard Code for Information Interchange (ASCII) reference table, players have the option of inserting special characters, such as "£" the British pound sign, into their chat, with just a few steps.
