The Panasonic KX-T7420 is a digital proprietary telephone for digital hybrid systems, typically used in an office setting. The KX-T7420 is a non-display model that offers standard phone system options, including transfer, intercom, conference, hold, speakerphone and mute. The primary phone system is usually located on the main desk, often a receptionist's desk, while extensions are placed at other desks.   1. 1

    Press "Auto Answer" to answer an intercom call or to answer a phone over the speaker on the phone. Press "Intercom" to make or get intercom calls and "Mute" to hear the other person on the line but prevent the other person from hearing you.

    Use "Hold" to place a call on hold and "Transfer" to transfer a call to another extension, followed by the extension number. Hang up the phone once the other person has picked up the call.

    Transfer a call to an external party by pressing "Transfer" followed by the "CO" button, then the desired phone number. Hang up the phone to complete the transfer.

    Move the volume selector on the side of the phone to adjust the volume from "Off" to "Low" to "High."

    Make an announcement to the entire office by pressing "63*" and making the announcement following the confirmation tone.

    Set call waiting by pressing "7311" and waiting for the confirmation tone. Cancel the confirmation tone by pressing "7310."

    Forward calls to another extension by pressing "Fwd/Dnd," followed by "4" and the extension number. Hang up the phone after the confirmation tone is heard. Forward calls when your extension is busy by pressing "Fwd/Dnd," followed by "2" and the extension number. Hang up the phone when finished.

    Conference in another party by pressing "Conf" followed by the third party's phone number and the "Conf" button again.

    Store numbers in the phone by pressing "Program," followed by "99," "CO" and the desired number. Press the "Auto Dial/Store" button and then "Program."
